Intellectual property (IP) and new technologies

At GWW, we are focused on new technologies. We have been running Tax Insight since 2019, our own subsidiary that brings new technological solutions to the e-tax market. We want to share our experience with our clients and help them from the idea stage.

That is why our team of solicitors, barristers and patent attorneys:

• advises on industrial property matters in domestic proceedings before the Polish Patent Office and internationally before the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), and the European Patent Office (EPO)
• conducts research into the registrability of inventions, utility models, industrial designs, and trademarks
• prepares application dossiers for trademarks, industrial designs, utility models and inventions
• advises clients on their ongoing project activities, checking that their solutions do not infringe on third-party rights
• responds to infringements of our clients’ designs, patents, or trademarks, prepares subpoenas, requests for injunctive relief, and conducts negotiations
• draws up licence agreements and settlements
• represents clients in litigation matters before courts and authorities in cases involving infringements of industrial property rights, copyrights and acts of unfair competition
• supports start-ups on an ongoing basis
• comprehensively supports IT implementations in companies (WMS, ERP, maintenance systems and others); together with its IT partner, it conducts audits prior to IT implementations
